Jim Parr continued our series on the spiritual disciplines with a talk on the discipline of simplicity.
We continued our series on spiritual disciplines with a talk on meditation by Eric Olivero. Richard Foster’s book The Celebration of Discipline is the companion for this series.
We began a summer series that is highlighting spiritual disciplines. It will follow some of the disciplines presented in Richard Foster’s The Celebration of Discipline book. David began with an introduction to the series at this meeting.
Brendan Murray from Lansing, MI joined our meeting and spoke on Holy Boldness from Acts 4.
The talk was the second half of reflections on the parable of the sower in Mark begun on March 31.
Brian Laba gave the first of two talks on the parable of the sower as told in Mark chapter 4. This talk explored the first three soil types and their obstacles.
John Yocum continued our series on walking in the power of the Holy Spirit with a talk on prophecy.
We continued our series on the work of the Holy Spirit under the theme verse 1 Corinthians 14:1 - Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. Stan Mathay gave a talk called Jorney to a New Land on growing in the spiritual gifts. We also had a testimony from Luis Parilla on his experience of the spiritual gifts of worship, tongues, and prophesy.
David Williamson’s talk was called Love One Another and continues our series on walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. It also follow up on the 1 John series of last term.
Chris Birk from the Word of Life Community in Ann Arbor and shared with us some of his story and insights on walking in the power of God. Chris’s story involves the Lord working through him powerfully and filling him with joy even in the midst of a terminal diagnosis.. This talk started a series for us on Walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit which will take us through the winter.
We continued our series on First John with David Williamson speaking on 1 Jn 2:28-3:10.
David continued with our fourth installment of our series on 1 John covering 2:15-27
We continued with our third installment of the 1 John series covering chapter 2 verses 3-11.
We continued our series on I John, covering 1 Jn 1:5-2:14
We have begun a series that will cover a number of our prayer meetings this fall on the epistle First John. David Williamson will lead us through studying the letter. The first session gave background and looked at the prologue (1 John 1:1-4).

The other two signs are water into wine (Jn 2:1-11) and raising of Lazarus (Jn 11) but the recording didn’t work for the first, and we didn’t have space for the seventh.
